Ellis Downes steps down as LCA Chairman

LCA Chairman Ellis Downes has advised the Board of Trustees that he will be retiring from his leadership role within the Association before Easter, stepping back for health reasons. The Board will meet on 19 March to appoint his successor.

Ellis Downes has led the LCA for just short of three years with enormous energy and flair, voicing the views and concerns of the membership and hosting a series of very successful formal and informal events bringing together LCA members and sector leaders to share unique insights into the opportunities and challenges of private medicine.

Subject to confirmation by the LCA Trustees, Ellis will continue his work on the Board in the role of Vice-Chairman and Appraisal Lead.

The new Chairman of the LCA will be announced in late March.
