Ian Gargan, Chief Executive, PHIN
Dr Ian Gargan joined PHIN as Chief Executive in September 2022. Under his leadership, PHIN has undergone significant transformation and progress, introducing a new roadmap to deliver the Competition & Markets Authority’s (CMA) 2014 Order with renewed confidence and a better understanding of the complexities of the sector.
PHIN’s main mission is to serve the patient by providing them with valuable insights and data, empowering them to make informed decisions and choose the best healthcare options for their needs, while ensuring transparency and efficiency within the private healthcare sector.
With his extensive background as a medical doctor and qualified psychologist, Ian Gargan brings a unique perspective to the table, combining medical expertise with a data-driven approach. He is committed to advancing PHIN’s objectives by working closely with stakeholders and partners to foster collaboration and achieve collective success.
In an interview with Newcross Healthcare – see https://youtu.be/KciqXXuIWfQ – Ian Gargan stresses the importance of understanding the roles of private and public healthcare and how the two can support each other:
“Don’t think of it as a two-tier system where one is better and one is different. Think of it as a twin track system that runs in parallel, and that one can learn from the other.”
We are looking forward to hearing more from Ian and discussing these views informally over lunch.
Please RSVP to office@london-consultants.org by 4 September.
